HLTAID003 Provide first aid


A First Aid Certificate with Major Training Group is a nationally recognised qualification that will give you the skills to apply first aid when needed, including  – First response, basic life support and casualty management across a range of work sites construction, building, transport and logistics industries and more.

  • Course scheduled monthly and run from 7:30am to 5pm daily

First Aid courses include:

  • Classroom based training with health and safety, videos, live demonstrations, and  clear instructions delivered by our high performing, knowledgeable trainers
  • Home study book for completion and return one week prior to course commencing (for Apply First Aid)
  • Written and practical assessment including CPR training on a resuscitation manikin
  • All workbooks, training materials, and a hi-vis vest.

  • Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment

Course Options

  • Apply First Aid

    Two day classroom or one day classroom course with home study book covers:

    • Responding to emergencies
    • Cardiac emergencies
    • Respiratory emergencies
    • Poisons, bites and stings
    • Wound and fracture care
    • Infection control
  • Apply First Aid Refresher

    One day classroom course covers:

    • Condensed version of full Apply First Aid course for previous First Aid Certificate holders close to expiry
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) only

    Three hour classroom course for First Aid Certificate holders requiring CPR update only covers:

    • Skills and knowledge to perform CPR in line with guidelines set by Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC)
    • Practical resuscitation methods performed on a resuscitation manikin


Course Requirements

  • Be able to read and write basic English (Workplace Health and Safety requirement)
  • Pass a language, literacy & numeracy assessment (LLN)
  • Minimum 18 years of age (Workplace Health and Safety requirement)
  • Provide two forms of identification
  • Wear covered footwear each day of the course
