FAQs

  • What does a dozer operator do?

Dozer operators ensure the safe and effective use of a dozer onsite. From destruction work to the movement of materials (e.g. pushing large quantities of soil), a dozer operator’s tasks can vary depending on the needs of the job. They also manage site safety, making sure heavy machine is used correctly, avoids hazards, and doesn’t pose any risks.

  • How do I get a dozer licence?

To receive a dozer competency, you’ll need to prove that you can operate a dozer correctly and safely in real-life situations. You can do this by undertaking dozer operator training that includes an assessment upon completion. If deemed competent in the assessment, you’ll obtain a nationally recognised statement of attainment which can be used to demonstrate competency.

  • I already know how to operate a dozer, but I don’t have certification. What can I do?

If you have previous operating experience of two years or more, you may be eligible to achieve recognition of your competency. By providing us with employment evidence or old logbooks, training plans, and an interstate or overseas dozer licence, we can conduct a practical assessment leading to a nationally recognised statement of attainment. Speak to us to find out more.

  • I don’t feel like three days will be enough for me. Are there extended learning options?

Yes. We can provide you with additional days of learning and practical experience onsite. You can also take your practical skills logbook away to gain work experience in the field. When you feel ready and your logbook has been endorsed by your workplace supervisor, we can conduct a final assessment. If successful, we’ll issue you with a nationally recognised statement of attainment.
