RIIHAN301D OPERATE ELEVATING WORK PLATFORM (UNDER 11 METRES)

An elevating work platform is a telescoping, scissor or articulating device (or combination thereof) used to position personnel, equipment and materials at work locations. It is also used to provide a work area for personnel elevated by and working from the platform.

OBJECTIVE

An Elevated Work Platform under 11meters licence with Major Training Group is a nationally recognised qualification that will give you the specialist skills to safely operate an elevated work platform in a range of trades. Your EWP ticket will allow you to legally operate elevating platforms in a variety of industries.

The unit above can be undertaken to gain competency and or it can be obtained through the ‘Yellow card’  issued from EWP association and is only valid for 5 years

DELIVERY OF THE EWP TRAINING

Choose a program that suits you:

  • Full EWP Training and Assessment Course
    • Everything you need from start to finish
    • High quality training over 1 day delivered by our knowledgeable team
    • Courses run weekdays multiple times a month from 6:30am to 3pm
  • Formal EWP Training and Assessment Course
    • 1 day formal training and assessment ( or until competent)
    • Employer involvement and licenced operator required to supervised
    • Formal training is completed at a Major Training Group site or onsite.
    • Course are available Monday to Friday 6:30am to 3pm, call to check the next available courses
  • Experienced Operators Course
    • Students must demonstrate previous experience (best case expired ticket)
    • Course start every week from 6:30am to 3pm daily

ELEVATED WORK PLATFORM TRAINING IN QLD INCLUDES

  • A detailed training plan
  • Classroom based training in health and safety with videos, demonstrations, and instructions delivered by our high performing, knowledgeable trainers
  • Written and practical assessment including all training materials and a hi-vis vest.
  • Reliable practical training to meet logbook requirements – shortened logbook hours required for experienced operators
  • Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment upon successful completion.

DETAILED COURSE INFORMATION

We offer training at your workplace as well. If you require training anywhere between Brisbane, Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast or other QLD location simply call us to arrange a suitable time and location. Courses are small groups from 4-8 people.

  • Full Training and Assessment Course
    • An exceptional quality competency-based training program delivered by our knowledgeable team.
    • Both the formal and informal requirements of the training are completed in a controlled environment at Major Training Group’s high quality simulated worksites throughout QLD.
    • Students are trained to a competency level suitable to achieve all elements of the assessment.
    • High quality training and materials including log book, training plan, full assessment and training manual are provided.
  • Formal Training and Assessment Course
    • Students complete the mandatory informal training on the job or at their current employment.
    • Employer must agree and fill in all relevant areas of student’s logbook
    • Includes a written assessment on completion of formal training.
  • Formal Assessment Only – after completion of formal training
    • For experienced and competent operators on completion of formal training.
    • Requires employer involvement
    • Students must log hours and detail of relevant tasks performed at their workplace
    • Student log book must be signed off by employer or employer’s representative with the relevant OHS licence
    • A completed log book with an employer’s letter validating the log is required.
    • A final skills assessment is conducted when the employer is happy with skill and knowledge level of the student
    • Assessment includes a closed book theory test (completed at formal training) and a comprehensive practical test

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

  • Be able to read and write basic English
  • Pass a language, literacy & numeracy assessment (LLN)
  • Minimum 16 years of age
  • Wear steel capped or safety boots on site; sun protection – Hat, long sleeved shirt and pants are also recommended.
