OVERVIEW

The Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade from Major Training is designed to for to cover the skills and knowledge required to work as an Engineering Tradesperson – Mechanical within metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries or other industries where Engineering Tradesperson – Mechanical work.

The qualification has been specifically developed for apprentices in the above trade. The qualification packaging has been developed on an assumption that competency will be developed through a combination of on and off-the-job learning strategies such as those delivered through a formal apprenticeship. The qualification may also be achieved through formal skills recognition assessment processes.

Course Details

The Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade specifies the competencies required for employment as an Engineering Tradesperson – Mechanical including the design, assembly, manufacture, installation, modification.

While there are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, for an apprentice pathway the learner must be employed full time or part time and have access to a workplace to be able to gain sufficient experience to successfully complete the Unit of Competency requirements.

People entering the workforce to undertake an Apprenticeship in the construction sector , they may have minimal or some prior skills or Statements of Attainment which may be recognised through our recognition process. Delivered through SRTO requirements including development of a Training Plan, Employer Resource Assessment and completion of a Training Record

Mechanical Draftsperson: In this role, you'll create detailed technical drawings and schematics using computer-aided design (CAD) software to communicate mechanical designs and specifications.

Manufacturing Technician: Manufacturing technicians play a key role in production lines, operating machinery, performing quality checks, and collaborating with engineers to ensure efficient manufacturing processes.

Toolmaker: Toolmakers design, create, and repair precision tools, molds, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes, contributing to the production of accurate and high-quality components.

Potential wages could be in the region of $105,000 to $125,000 per year

Awesome!! After coming from TAFE the training is so much better. Smaller classes better and more knowledgeable teachers who care about the students and more flexible learning (being able to do most of the work from home). TAFE felt like it was just there to keep apprentices there for as long as possible (spending 8 hours to do 2 hours of work) but here it’s all based around the student, come in for the morning to to finish up units then go back to work for the rest of the day.
