Learn More About Our Apprenticeships & Traineeships Training

To undertake traineeships or apprenticeships in QLD with Major Training, you must be employed full-time or part-time and have access to a workplace relevant to your qualification. Learn more about what’s involved with starting your qualification on our information for apprentices and trainees page.
Major Training are the apprenticeship specialists. We provide a range of traineeship and apprenticeship courses so you can get qualified and strengthen your skills. Apprenticeship training combines work with structured skill development and can be full-time, part-time, or school-based – where some of the training is undertaken while the apprentice or trainee is in high school.

APPRENTICESHIPS & TRAINEESHIPS

As an RTO, Major Training can facilitate the training component of an apprenticeship or traineeship. If you’re thinking of hiring an apprentice or trainee, view our information for employers page for advice and helpful links.

We offer a wide range of apprenticeship training across many industries, including:

We provide customised apprenticeship training plans face-to-face with employers and students to ensure you’re learning the right skills. Working in partnership with Australian Apprenticeship Networks, our team provides education and coaching to employers around supervision requirements for all types of apprenticeships.

Delivering theory and practical training onsite allows us to develop relevant skills in a real-world setting, so you can complete your apprenticeship or traineeship with advanced skill competencies.

To maintain a high standard of training, we only employ trainers and assessors with current industry experience. We also offer support to employers for performance management of apprentices as required, as well as User Choice Funding and other funding options for students.

SCHOOL-BASED APPRENTICESHIPS

A school-based apprenticeship is a formal arrangement that permits high school students (typically those in Year 11 or 12) to receive training as paid employees while studying for their senior certificate.  This involves providing a minimum of 375 hours (50 days) of paid employment for each 12 months from the date of commencement of the school-based apprenticeship or traineeship.

For the electrotechnology industry, the minimum is 600 hours (80 days) This arrangement must influence the student’s school timetable for the apprenticeship or traineeship to be considered school-based.

Learn more about school-based apprenticeships here.

Major Training has over 20 years’ experience in training apprentices and trainees, so you can rely on us to help you build a successful career. For more information on how we facilitate traineeships and apprenticeship training, please contact us today.
