Major Training are the apprenticeship specialists. We provide a range of traineeship and apprenticeship courses so you can get qualified and strengthen your skills. Apprenticeship training combines work with structured skill development and can be full-time, part-time, or school-based – where some of the training is undertaken while the apprentice or trainee is in high school.

Working in partnership with Australian Apprenticeship Networks, our team provides education and coaching to employers around supervision requirements for all types of apprenticeships.

To maintain a high standard of training, we only employ trainers and assessors with current industry experience. We also offer support to employers for performance management of apprentices as required, as well as User Choice Funding and other funding options for students.

No matter which apprenticeship or traineeship you decide to study, we have the resources that allow you to earn while you learn so you can realise your career ambitions.
A school-based apprenticeship is a formal arrangement that permits high school students (typically those in Year 11 or 12) to receive training as paid employees while studying for their senior certificate. This involves providing a minimum of 375 hours (50 days) of paid employment for each 12 months from the date of commencement of the school-based apprenticeship or traineeship.
For the electrotechnology industry, the minimum is 600 hours (80 days) This arrangement must influence the student’s school timetable for the apprenticeship or traineeship to be considered school-based.
