Objective Of The Forklift Training

A Forklift licence with Major Training Group is a nationally recognised qualification that will give you the skills to safely operate a forklift in the workplace. These versatile machines are used everywhere and are a great start to any career.

You will require a valid forklift ticket in order to remain employed or gain employment as an operator of these vehicles. Successful completion of our forklift training will result in a forklift ticket. We provide training across the state in areas such as Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast. Delivery Of The Forklift Course

Major Training Group offers flexible, reliable, and easy to access options that let you learn on the job. Choose a program that suits you:

  • Full Training and Assessment Forklift Course
    • Everything you need from start to finish
    • 25 hours high quality training over 3 days delivered by our knowledgeable team
    • Course start Mondays and Wednesday every week running from 6:30am to 3pm daily
  • Formal Training and Assessment Course
    • 1-1 ½ days formal training, 1 day practical training & up to 6 months log book on the job
    • Employer involvement needed
    • Course start Mondays and Wednesday every week running from 6:30am to 3pm daily
  • Experienced Operators Course
    • Students must demonstrate previous experience.
    • Cheaper and quicker 2-day course
    • Course start every week from 6:30am to 3pm daily

Detailed Course Information

  • Full Training and Assessment Course
    • An exceptional quality competency-based training program delivered by our knowledgeable team.
    • Both the formal and informal requirements of the training are completed in a controlled environment at Major Training Group’s high quality simulated worksites throughout QLD.
    • Students are trained to a competency level suitable to achieve all elements of the assessment.
    • High quality training and materials including log book, training plan, full assessment and training manual are provided.
  • Formal Training and Assessment Course
    • Students complete the mandatory informal training on the job or at their current employment.
    • Employer must agree and fill in all relevant areas of student’s logbook
    • Includes a written assessment on completion of formal training
  • Formal Assessment Only – after completion of formal training
    • For experienced and competent operators on completion of formal training.
    • Requires employer involvement.
    • Students must log hours and detail of relevant tasks performed at their workplace
    • Student log book must be signed off by employer or employer’s representative with the relevant OHS licence
    • A completed log book with an employer’s letter validating the log is required.
    • A final skills assessment is conducted when the employer is happy with skill and knowledge level of the student
    • Assessment includes a closed book theory test (completed at formal training) and a comprehensive practical test
  • Experienced Operators Courses
    • Evidence of previous experience required including for example old log books, training plans, interstate or expired tickets

Forklift Course Requirements

  • Be able to read and write basic English (Workplace Health and Safety requirement)
  • Pass a language, literacy & numeracy assessment (LLN)
  • Minimum 18 years of age (Workplace Health and Safety requirement)
  • Provide three forms of identification click here to view valid documents
  • Wear steel capped or safety boots on site; sun protection – Hat, long sleeved shirt and pants are also recommended

Forklift Licence Renewal Qld

  • High Risk Work licences have a 5 year life span, after this time they licence will need to be renewed. This is done via the WHS web site.
  • If your High Risk Work licence has expired the operator has up to 12 months to renew the HRW licence.
  • If your High Risk Work licence has expired you are not a licenced operator in the period of time.
  • If it is past the 12 month period the operator has no choice but to come and do the written and practical exam again.
  • A VOC cannot be done on an expired licence
