  • What is a front end loader?

A front end loader is a type of machinery used in the construction industry. Featuring a front end scoop on a hinge, front end loaders are fitted with wheels or tracks for manoeuvring over uneven surfaces. They can lift extremely heavy loads and are usually operated via a joystick.

  • What is a front end loader used for?

Front end loaders are typically used for shifting heavy materials like bitumen, debris and rocks. They can scoop materials from ground level into a dump truck and transport items without dragging them over the ground.

  • What is the difference between a front end loader and a backhoe?

The key differences between a front end loader and a backhoe are their size and the placement of the loader. Front end loaders are smaller with back-mounted buckets, making them more suited to excavation jobs.
